Mock exams, and your four sittings

A mock is a full-length, blueprint-weighted, timed rehearsal of the real exam — the closest thing to exam day. Scored mock sittings come with a paid pass; your 24-hour trial includes one full-length mock as timed practice — the whole paper on the real clock, your readiness number at the end, and it never spends one of a pass's scored sittings.

What each sitting serves

Each sitting serves the questions you have not seen first, drawn across the exam's forms, so no two of your sittings are the same paper. The mocks page tells you whether your next sitting still counts.

The page tells you the length, the time limit and the pass mark for your exam. Where the awarding body publishes no pass mark, it says so and names the bar we score against instead.

Why there is a limit

Mocks are what the SurePass Guarantee is measured on. So on exams where the bank can supply four full-length papers' worth of questions you have not seen, you get 4 mock sittings — and the page counts them for you: "You've used 1 of 4 mock sittings — 3 left."

Practice questions and timed practice stay unlimited and never use one. Build your readiness with those; spend a sitting when you are close.

Where an exam's bank cannot yet supply that many, no cap is applied and no counter appears — you will simply not see this at all on that exam.

What counts as a sitting

A completed, scored mock. An abandoned one never uses one up, and full-length timed practice is not a mock.

There is a second rule that matters for the guarantee only: a sitting counts as guarantee evidence when at least 75% of its questions were new to you. The page warns you before you start if your next paper cannot clear that — so you never spend a sitting that could not have counted.

When you run out

The Start button goes away, and in its place the page points you at what is still open: Cram Mode, flashcards, and unlimited timed practice. Nothing about your studying stops.

Scoring

Your score is correct ÷ total — an unanswered question counts as wrong, exactly as on the day. Results lead with pass or not-yet-passing against your exam's own bar, and your best finished sitting is the one that shows.
