Troubleshooting
My progress or streak looks wrong
Updated 2026-08-21
Almost every "my numbers are wrong" case is one of these five:
1. The day boundary. Your streak day rolls over at midnight in your timezone (the one set with your study reminders). If you study at 11:50pm and again at 12:10am, that's two days — and if your reminder timezone is set to somewhere you don't live, your "day" flips at an odd hour. Check the timezone in your reminder settings.
2. What counts as activity. A streak day is a day you actually studied — answering practice questions or reviewing flashcards. Just opening the app doesn't count, and that's deliberate.
3. Streak freezes did (or didn't) fire. The streak is forgiving: every 7-day milestone banks a freeze (you can hold up to 3), and a freeze automatically covers a missed day. So a missed Tuesday may show your streak intact — that's a freeze being spent, not a bug. You can turn auto-freezes off in settings if you'd rather your streak play hardcore.
4. Offline work hasn't synced yet. Answers and reviews done offline count when your device reconnects and syncs. Open the app while online and give it a moment.
5. Mocks show your best score. The mocks page shows your best finished attempt per mock — an abandoned or worse retake won't lower it. Blank answers in a finished mock count as wrong, which can make a rushed mock score lower than the questions you got right.
If none of these explain what you're seeing, email support@capitalprep.com with a screenshot and roughly when you studied — we can check your account's history directly.
