The Capital Prep Method
What to study, when to study it & the exact moment you're ready.
Cut out the months of studying you don't need. NCAC I prep that adapts every day — no guessing what to do next.
SurePass readiness
A readiness score built from your own answers, not a bar that fills because you clicked. Recent work counts heaviest, so the half hour you find between sessions actually moves it.

Anywhere Mode · Study from your pocket
Ten minutes of scrolling — or ten minutes closer to passing.
Your phone is already in your hand. Two taps, no signal needed.
- Quick Ten — One tap. Ten questions, with the rationale on every one.
- It downloads itself — No button, no setup, nothing to remember.
- No bars? Still works — Airplane mode, the subway, a cabin in the woods.
- Nothing gets lost. Ever. — Saves as you tap, syncs when you're back.
Flashcards and practice questions work offline. The study guide, audio and full-length mocks need a connection.

Questions, answered
What's inside the study portal?
The full Fast Track Study System — every practice question, every flashcard deck, full-length mock exams, narrated audio, Miles the AI tutor, and the entire study guide, every chapter readable and highlightable. The cheat sheet — the highest-yield facts as a PDF — is in the study portal on every pass, with instant access to download it. Every pass opens all of it, backed by the SurePass Guarantee.
How does the SurePass Guarantee work?
Score 85%+ on one full-length mock, sit the real exam, and if you don't pass we refund what you paid. On Lifetime, clear two mocks with your readiness meter at "Getting close" or above and we also pay your full $150 retake fee — one funded retake. You file in your study portal with your NCC AP result. What it does not cover: any administration fee your state adds on top of NCC AP's fee, and the credential application fee. NCC AP is not part of this guarantee; it is ours.
How many full-length mocks do I get?
Four scored full-length sittings, each a brand-new 150-question paper built to NCC AP's five domains in the shares it publishes — 14% Orientation, 23% Assessment, 25% Ongoing Treatment Planning & Implementation, 21% Addiction Counseling Practices & Skills, 17% Professional Practices — and timed to the real 3 hours. Practice questions and timed practice are unlimited and never use one. Worth knowing what you are comparing that to: NAADAC's own practice test is 70 questions and reports only pass or fail, against a 150-question exam.
Which pass should I buy?
Most people should buy Lifetime. It is the only tier that pays toward your retake, and on this exam a retest costs the same as the first sitting. Study for this exam usually runs several weeks, longer than a 30-Day pass. The 30-Day suits a date that is close; the 7-Day is for a final-week check when your appointment is already booked.
What score do I need to pass?
NCC AP publishes it: "A score of 67% (100/150) is passing." That is 100 of the 150 questions. The 85% our mocks are marked against is ours, not NCC AP's, and it sits well above 67% on purpose — it is the score that qualifies you for the guarantee, and we would rather you find the gap on our paper than on theirs.
What does the exam cost, and what does a retake cost?
NCC AP's exam fee is $150, and some states add an administration fee of their own. In NCC AP's words, "The cost for re-testing is the same," and you may test up to three times in a calendar year. The credential itself is a separate application fee once you pass. Our Lifetime guarantee pays your full $150 retake fee — nobody else in this field puts a dollar toward it.
How do I schedule the exam?
On demand, through NCC AP's testing partner Kryterion, at a test centre or online with a remote proctor — but only once you have a registration code, which comes from NCC AP after your application is approved or from your state board if you are testing through the state route. Unofficial scores arrive by email when you finish.
Are the questions like the real exam?
Close, and here is how. Every item is written to NCC AP's five domains and weighted the way it weights them, with a reason given for every option, including why each wrong one is wrong. NCC AP publishes no sample items and does not state an option count, so the four options are a fact about our bank, not a claim about theirs. Our mocks run 150 questions on the real 3-hour clock.
What about NAADAC's own study materials?
Worth knowing exactly what they are. NAADAC sells a $25 practice test of 70 questions that reports pass or fail only, and its Basics of Addiction Counseling manuals — of which it says the series "does not guarantee all topics are covered completely." NCC AP itself says there is no study guide specifically designed for its exams. They come from the body behind the credential, which we cannot claim. Prices move, so check before you buy.
What happens when my pass expires?
Your account stays and your work stays with it — notes, highlights and flashcard history are all there if you come back. The paid features stop. You can upgrade at any time and pick up exactly where you left off, and an upgrade always credits what you already paid.
My exam date moved. Does the plan adjust?
Yes. Change the date and the Game Plan rebuilds around the new one — it works backwards from your date, so a move forward compresses it and a move back spreads it out. Nothing is lost.
Can I use it on my phone, and does it work offline?
Yes to both. Add it to your home screen and it behaves like an app. Your due flashcards and a set of practice questions download automatically, and the whole study guide downloads too, narrated audio included — so a drive with no signal is still study time. Scored mocks and the tutor wait for a connection.
Do you offer refunds if I change my mind?
Yes, separately from the pass guarantee: 24 hours on the 7-Day Pass, 48 hours on the 30-Day Pass, or 72 hours on Lifetime, measured from your purchase (or from your upgrade, if you upgraded) — no questions asked, as long as you haven't sat your exam yet. EEA and UK buyers also keep their 14-day statutory right. The SurePass Guarantee is the other promise — that one is about your exam result, not about changing your mind.
Why are SurePass guarantees limited?
Because we honor them. Every guarantee is a real financial commitment we may genuinely pay out, so a limited number opens for this exam each day. The allocation resets at midnight in your own time zone, and the counter shows how many of today's are still open.
