The Capital Prep Method
What to study, when to study it & the exact moment you're ready.
Cut out the months of studying you don't need. CJBAT prep that adapts every day — no guessing what to do next.
SurePass readiness
A readiness score built from your own answers, not a bar that fills because you clicked. Recent work counts heaviest, so a short session before a shift actually moves it.

Anywhere Mode · Study from your pocket
Ten minutes of scrolling — or ten minutes closer to passing.
Your phone is already in your hand. Two taps, no signal needed.
- Quick Ten — One tap. Ten questions, with the rationale on every one.
- It downloads itself — No button, no setup, nothing to remember.
- No bars? Still works — Airplane mode, the subway, a cabin in the woods.
- Nothing gets lost. Ever. — Saves as you tap, syncs when you're back.
Flashcards and practice questions work offline. The study guide, audio and full-length mocks need a connection.

Questions, answered
What's inside the study portal?
The full Fast Track Study System — every practice question, every flashcard deck, full-length mock exams, narrated audio, Miles the AI tutor, and the entire study guide, every chapter readable and highlightable. The cheat sheet — the highest-yield facts as a PDF — is in the study portal on every pass, with instant access to download it. Every pass opens all of it, backed by the SurePass Guarantee.
Does this cover law enforcement and corrections?
Yes, both, in one purchase. FDLE runs two separate tests — CJBATLEO for law enforcement and CJBATCO for corrections — with the same three Sections and the same timing; the scenarios are set on the street in one and inside a facility in the other. You pick your track, and your scored mocks are drawn from that track. The guide, flashcards and practice questions cover both. One thing to be clear about: each official test is its own registration with Pearson VUE, its own $39 fee and its own limit of three attempts in any 12 months. Passing one does not count for the other.
How does the SurePass Guarantee work?
Score 85%+ on one full-length mock on your track, sit the real CJBAT, and if you don't pass we refund what you paid. On Lifetime, clear two mocks with your readiness meter at "Getting close" or above and we also pay your full $39 retake fee — one funded retake, ever. You file in your study portal with the failing score report from your Pearson VUE account. What it does not cover: a fee Pearson VUE keeps because you missed or were late for your appointment or brought the wrong ID (that is not a fail), the first registration for the other track, and any academy, agency application, background or medical costs. The guarantee is ours; FDLE, IOS and Pearson VUE have nothing to do with it.
How many full-length mocks do I get?
Four scored full-length sittings, each a brand-new 97-question paper split 47 / 10 / 40 across the three Sections the way FDLE's handbook splits the real test, drawn from the track you choose, on a 90-minute clock. Practice questions and timed practice are unlimited and never use one. Worth knowing what else is on the shelf: IOS, the company that writes the CJBAT, sells practice tests of 50 questions each that cover the cognitive portion only, one form per purchase.
Which pass should I buy?
If your test is booked and you only want a final check, the 7-Day. If you are starting now, the 30-Day covers a normal run-up with room for a reschedule. Lifetime is the one to buy if you cannot afford a lost attempt: it is the only tier that also pays your retake fee, and it does not run out while you wait out a failed attempt or an academy start date. FDLE allows only three attempts per track in any 12 months, so a bad first sitting costs time as well as money.
What score do I need to pass?
FDLE's rule has two parts, in its own words: "a score of 70 or higher across all three sections. In addition, a candidate must correctly respond to at least 30 of the 50 questions contained within Sections II and III." FDLE does not say whether the 70 is a percentage, a scaled score or a count, so we don't either. You get a pass or a fail and no score; a failing report graphs Sections II and III and says nothing about Section I. The 85% our mocks are marked against is ours, not FDLE's. It is set high on purpose, because it is also the score that qualifies you for the guarantee.
What does the exam cost, and what does a retake cost?
$39 per test, paid to Pearson VUE when you reserve, non-refundable and non-transferable. Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours ahead or you lose it; arrive late or without two valid IDs and you lose it too. A retake is a new $39. You must wait 24 hours after a failed attempt before you can book again, and FDLE allows no more than three total attempts per discipline in any 12 months. A passing result is valid for four years. Our Lifetime guarantee pays your full $39 retake fee for one retake.
Do I even need to take the CJBAT?
Probably, but check. Since 1 July 2022, Florida law (s. 943.17(1)(g)) says a candidate entering a law enforcement academy who is a veteran as Florida law defines one, or who holds an associate degree or higher from an accredited college does not have to take the law enforcement test. That exemption does not apply to corrections. Officers already certified in Florida or another state may qualify through FDLE's Equivalency of Training process instead. If you are exempt, you do not need this.
Are the questions like the real test?
As close as we can make them, and here is where they differ. FDLE and IOS publish no sample questions, so every item is written to FDLE's three Sections from the handbook's own description, with four options and a reason given for every option. Four options is a fact about our bank, not a claim about IOS's format. Section I is written to the conduct standards officers are held to and has a keyed best answer; on the real test IOS scores Section I its own way and never reports it. In Section II the real test shows each picture for one minute and then takes it away. In our app the picture stays on screen while you answer, so practice the discipline the guide teaches — study, look away, then answer — because we don't enforce it for you. And the real test times each Section separately, while our mock runs one 90-minute clock.
What about IOS's official study materials?
FDLE and the handbook both point candidates to IOS, the company that writes the CJBAT. IOS sells a $9.99 standard study guide, a $20.99 enhanced guide, practice tests at $13 each (50 questions on the cognitive portion, separate forms for law enforcement and corrections), and a $42.39 package per track. They come from the people who write the test, which we cannot claim, and they are worth having alongside us. Know the terms: IOS's online content is non-refundable, and downloads leave your account after 90 days. Prices move, so check them before you buy.
What happens when my pass expires?
Your account stays and your work stays with it — notes, highlights and flashcard history are all there if you come back. The paid features stop. You can upgrade at any time and pick up exactly where you left off, and an upgrade always credits what you already paid.
My exam date moved. Does the plan adjust?
Yes. Change the date and the Game Plan rebuilds around the new one — a move forward compresses it and a move back spreads it out. Nothing is lost. Pearson VUE requires changes at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Can I use it on my phone, and does it work offline?
Yes to both. Add it to your home screen and it behaves like an app. Your due flashcards and a set of practice questions download automatically, and the whole study guide downloads too, narrated audio included. Scored mocks and the tutor wait for a connection.
Do you offer refunds if I change my mind?
Yes, separately from the pass guarantee: 24 hours on the 7-Day Pass, 48 hours on the 30-Day Pass, or 72 hours on Lifetime, measured from your purchase (or from your upgrade, if you upgraded) — no questions asked, as long as you haven't sat your exam yet. EEA and UK buyers also keep their 14-day statutory right. The SurePass Guarantee is the other promise — that one is about your exam result, not about changing your mind.
Why are SurePass guarantees limited?
Because we honor them. Every guarantee is a real financial commitment, so a limited number opens for this exam each day. The allocation resets at midnight in your own time zone, and the counter shows how many of today's are still open.
